History of the creation of AIGC / CAGT

On February 14, 15, 2020, the Extraordinary Summit of African Sovereigns and Traditional Leaders was held in Addis Ababa, which resulted in the creation of the Organizing Commission of the Federation of Associations of Traditional and Customary Authorities of Africa, in short `` COFAA ''.

The COFAA had given itself the mission of Federating the various Organizations of the Authorities
Customaries and Traditional Leaders of Africa that exist to this day. To create the constitution of the Network of Customary Authorities and Traditional Leaders for Peace, Security and the promotion of hospitality in Africa and the support of organizations in the 6th Region of the African Union, for the institutionalization of a Pan African Diaspora Organization (OPAD). Mr KATEBE KATOTO Raphael has been appointed as the new commissioner general in charge of carrying the project for the 6th region.

Unfortunately the preparation of this summit and its management revealed certain inconsistencies.
We were all surprised by the urgency and the haste in which this summit was organized (end of January, beginning of February). The summit was initially to be held on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Summit of African Heads of State in Addis ABEBA on February 9, 10, 11 and which was postponed by a few days (from February 14 to 16).

This haste and the organization of this summit, to leave a feeling of frustration, disappointment and above all a taste of unfinished business, all resulted in the most opaque and catastrophic financial management.

After the Addis Ababa summit, once we returned from this summit, we witnessed some of the most humiliating shows. This summit, organized by the former King Tchiffi Zié, generated frustration and disappointment for all participants, hence the anger and reprisals that followed and which left us speechless.

All the participants realized that abnormal things had happened there and that suspicions of misappropriation of allocated funds had to be clarified.

A commission of inquiry and audit was set up headed by Majesty TANYI Robinson, Princess Julie KONGO and her
Majesty Suanu Baridam - Secretary / Rapporteur (commission of inquiry), to elucidate these suspicions of wrongdoing observed after the Addis Ababa summit.

The leaders and traditional chiefs present at this summit, asked its initiator, King Tchiffi Zié, to provide written explanations with supporting documents, of all financial transactions / expenses carried out by him in connection with this summit.

- Having noted the inability of Tchiffi Ziè to provide explanations on this subject.
- Having noted that he rather opted for a destabilization, a disorganization and a questioning of the resolutions of the COFAA, by dismissing and appointing without having consulted the consultative assembly of the commission.
- Having noted that he did not resign, the time of this investigation, and tried to influence the establishment of the audit commission by appointing relatives himself.
- Having noted that he has dismissed the Secretary General of COFAA, in flagrant violation of the resolutions of the committee.
- Having noted that he has appointed a new interim secretary general without referring to the commission. - Having noted its inability to protect, defend and promote African cultural identity.
- Having noted that his power as King or authority is not recognized in his own country.

We traditional African leaders, members of COFAA, take the decision on this day of August 16, 2020, to resign from his status of President of COFAA and heads of traditional leaders of Africa Mr Tchiffi Ziè jean Gervais.

A provisional executive committee was set up for a period of 6 months, headed by Princess Kongo Julie, to allow the reorganization of COFAA which has now become AIGC / CAGT (African Indigenous Governance Council or the African Council. of Indigenous Governance), with the arrival of new entrants and allow the organization of an election, to appoint a new leader of the traditional chiefdom, with a fixed term mandate.

6 months after this interim which began on August 16, 2020, February 14, 2021, His Majesty TANYI Robinson was appointed as president of the new organization for a renewable 2-year term.
